Instructions for Making Appointments using Outlook
I am giving instructions for how to make an appt. using Webmail because everyone has the same version of Webmail; however, you can also use your smart phone’s mail program or the Outlook software on your computer to request appointments.
Log into Webmail. On the lower left-hand corner of Webmail, click CALENDAR.
- Once in your calendar, click the ARROW next to NEW button to bring up the scroll down menu on the upper left hand side of the screen and select MEETING REQUEST.
- Add my name/e-mail, and select a time only during the specified window of time specified above (e.g. Wednesday 9:15-10:30 or 2:30-5pm). Do not select a time that overlaps with one that has already been taken by another student, and which will show as “Busy.”
- Select a 15 or 30 minute slot, depending on what you need.
- Add in the Subject field a description of what you’re coming to see me about (for example: study abroad advice, close reading).
- Click SEND.
- You will receive a notification when I accept. If another student has requested this time when I see it, I may respond to your meeting invitation with an alternative time, but this rarely happens.
Remember that Drop-In Hours require no appointment. See above.
You should make every effort to make Drop-In or Appt. Office Hours. If you can’t please e-mail us to schedule a meeting outside of these hours.
